The annual dinner and awards presentation was held at the Brookfield golf course clubhouse on 09/01/12.The meal was a great success. Please pardon me while I have a small contented burp.
After speaking for a short while about the much missed Dave Allbutt,Geoff Chambers introduced the guest speaker from Stone Wheelers, the irrepressible Mr Greg Dancer who entertained the room with tales of alternative tandem riding techniques.I'm sure Cheshires Chief Constable who was stood at the bar was as interested if not as amused as the rest of the room, somebody must have informed Greg of his presence mustn't they?
The awards were dished out liberally by Jonny Waddilove with Ged Barker well deserving of his worlds biggest stirrer wooden spoon for demonstrating horizontal bike riding.Hope your collar bone gets better soon.
The wooden plaque awarded to John Gallagher for his tour of Little Wenlock, tour of Little Wenlock during the trip to Church Stretton is also worthy of mention.Apologies again for repeating myself.

Hi Steve
Could you put a message on the club website please. Barry from Kidsgrove Wheelers rang me yesterday to see if anyone from CCW would be interested in joining them on a cycling trip to Spain in May. It's not been formally organised as yet but if anyone is interested they can contact Nick or myself and we can give them Barry's contact number.
They plan to travel on the Bike Bus and stay in a coastal town near Barcelona for either 9 or 14 days.
Thank you
Caroline
This website has had inside information from a reliable source that another of the clubs members will be joining a top class cycling team.
Steve Fidler was the most recent to realize his talents by joining Team Elite.
The club would like to wish Rory Davies all the best with the latest transfer.
I am the secretary of the Crewe and Nantwich Twinning Association (CANTA) and have been approached by theTwinning association of Macon (our twin town in France) of the following event and wonder if there is any interest within your club.
Cyclists - enjoy 3 days in Mâcon and take part in the annual cycle race.
The Twinning Association in Mâcon has invited 4 or 5 cyclists from our area to take part in the annual cycle event 'Rando Flacéenne organised by the Cycling Club of Mâcon. This takes place on the 1st of May. There are circuits of between 25 and 88 miles through the beautiful countryside surrounding the town. The club offers accommodation and breakfast at the Centre Omnisports from April 28th to May 1st. Participants have to pay for their trip, (4 euros) their lunches and evening meals. On May 1st, they will be provided with food during the ride, and a barbecue will be organised afterwards.
Anyone interested in this event can contact the Mâcon Twinning Committee directly. comitedejumelage0976@orange.fr or CANTA secretary@canta.org.uk
If you want to find out more about the Mâcon Cycling Club go to http://www.ecfmacon.com/
